Sabiha Hasan Sumbul is a self-taught visual artist and painter. Born and raised in Varanasi, she began painting during her school years. Initially, her work focused on realistic and landscape painting. However, as she matured and gained new artistic imagination, her subjects gradually took shape and she experimented on canvas with her current unique style. Ms. Sumbul often uses abstract forms to express her feelings. Looking closely at her work, one can easily understand the influence of nature and its beauty on her work and her focus on flowers. Shades of vibrancy, happiness, beauty, freshness and love clearly dominate her work. Her style embodies her mission statement, "I do not want to commit to a particular theme and style, but rather convey beauty and positivity to the world through my work." Sabiha Hasan Sumbul has exhibited her work nationally and internationally and has numerous group and solo exhibitions to her credit. In 2018, she was invited to participate in the 'Calligraphy Art Exhibition' in Sydney, Australia, which was attended by artists from all over the world. She was also invited by the Taj Group of Hotels to exhibit her works at the Taj Bengal in Kolkata. Her works can be seen in many homes and corporate offices throughout India and abroad (USA, Australia, Saudi Arabia and Singapore to name a few). Sabiha has held numerous solo exhibitions at Lalit Kala Academy, All India Fine Art and Craft Society, New Delhi, DAV University of Education, Abohar (Punjab), Aligarh Muslim University, Birla Institute, Kolkata and many others. In February 2020, she will host a solo exhibition at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Sabiha's paintings are available on the Saatchi Art platform.
